Wk 12 Criteria

Criteria set by Brett

Wk 12 Tutorial

Discussion with Brett about the idea of 'Flexible meeting room', and the idea of having the restaurant as a gathering space for all the Ministers, 150 representatives and officers.

Feedback: Flexible meeting room is a more traditional concept. A more inspiring / futuristic idea is expected.

| Inspirations

Foyer, Restaurant, Public and Community Chamber and Library are key functional space in my design.

| Solutions

Citizens will initiate the system, and the laws are adjusted according to their needs. Government only seats in a position to assist the lives of the public, and laws are adjusted in order to improve the lives of the citizens.

Technologies can be access everywhere and anywhere, it is a tool to hear the voice from the public and connect the citizens and government. Hence, public are able to voice out their opinions on a forum. Information can be gathered easily and the collectors will monitor their opinions in a more systematic ways.

Public meet up once a month to discuss the issues in their surrounding cities, 150 public are selected as representatives to voice out in the parliament house, and to propose the possibilities of law changes.

| Issues

Public are unable to engage in the proposal and decision making. Often solutions cannot address the issues directly and assist the citizens, which results in time and money wasted.

| Vision

Create a nation with a clear sense of place and identity. Australia Parliament House will be able to adapt the rapid change of technologies, issues with population growth and climate change, through maximising public involvement, high level of engagement between the community and the government and promote a nation that will live harmoniously with one another.
